What Grade is 304l Stainless Steel Casting?
304L stainless steel casting is a modification of 304 grade with lower carbon content to minimise the formation of sensitisation and carbide during the welding process. This makes 304L useful in applications that involve welding and the use of the material in environments that are corrosive in nature.
304 Vs 304l Stainless Steel Coil?
The 304 and 304L stainless steel coils are general-purpose and have high corrosion resistance; the major difference is the percentage of carbon. 304 stainless steel has a slightly higher carbon content, which gives it a slightly higher strength. 304L has less carbon content than 304 and is less susceptible to sensitisation.
